It looks like we'll be getting a whole lot more Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne in 2018 as Louis has confirmed that they'll both be returning as judges on The X Factor next series.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's Judges' Houses, Louis revealed that Sharon "won't retire" and that she'll "keep coming back".

"I'll give up when she [Sharon] does," he added. "I love it, it's not like work. This is not like work, it's great fun. I'm getting paid to do something I love. I'm signed for next year already, so is Sharon."

However, Nicole Scherzinger hasn't yet signed-on for next year, and Louis revealed that if it was up to him to find a replacement he'd choose either "Mel B or Mika".

"I love Mel, she's a survivor," the judge said of the former Spice Girl. "She's looking really well. She looks fantastic with that new hair, I love her." But just not as much as Nicole...

"I love Nicole a little bit more," he said. "Nicole is my favourite female judge ever, she brings so much. I adore her, I love her more than she loves me. Seriously, she's just the best, she's amazing. She wants to win this year."

However, it looks like Cheryl could also be in the running for a spot next year, with her boyfriend Liam Payne saying: "Cheryl and Simon spoke about her going back next year. Obviously Simon is desperate to get her back."

Earlier this year, Louis hinted that former Spice Girl Mel could return to the fold on The X Factor following reports that Nicole is working up a busy work schedule.

"Nicole might be getting a big movie like Wicked," he said. "If [Nicole doesn't come back], Mel B would be a good idea for the panel."

The X Factor continues with Judges' Houses tonight (October 21) at 8.20pm and tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
