X Factor judge Louis Tomlinson was a fan favourite on tonight's (October 20) live performance show, as many viewers highlighted his "sassiness".

Following Irish lad Brendan Murray's performance, Simon Cowell was quick to call the whole thing "boring". But this wouldn't stand with Louis, who's Brendan's mentor on the show.

Telling Simon to "pipe down for a minute" and "shut up", Louis' actions were the talk of Twitter as viewers loved how he stood up to his 'boss'.

Is Simon's reign as the panel's most powerful voice coming to an end?

Whilst many enjoyed Louis' sassiness on display, a lot were also sympathetic towards singer Danny Tetley, whose performance was bruised by a technical glitch just as he was about to start singing.

Anthony Russell (the Liverpudlian singer) had just performed his song prior to Danny, but the announcer introduced Anthony once again as Danny's band began playing their instruments.

Not exactly the smoothest start to the show's live performances, but thankfully Danny was able to overcome his stuttering start and completely blew away the judges and audience.

Meanwhile, Robbie Williams and Ayda Field's dancing gained some attention too – but not in the way they'd appreciate.

By the way, did we mention it's a double elimination this weekend?

The X Factor returns tomorrow (October 21) for the vote-off at 8pm on ITV.
