X Factor stars were ‘kicked off Coach Trip for being gay’

Bradley and Ottavio’s appearance on the X Factor is far from their first stint on reality TV, with several dating shows and Channel 4’s Coach Trip under their glittery belts.

Now the pair have sensationally lifted the lid on their time filming Coach Trip, claiming that they were victims of ‘homophobic bullying’ by the other contestants.

In case you’ve never had the dubious pleasure of seeing it, Coach Trip sees the most irritating guests booted off a lengthy coach holiday at the end of each episode.

Bradley and Ottavio explained that a secret WhatsApp message was sent round their fellow travellers on the show, egging them on to “get those two gays out”.

“Bradley found out that one of the contestants had a WhatsApp group and all the other couples were in it apart from me and Bradley,” Ottavio told The Sun.

“Bradley caught one of them having a conversation and they said ‘Let’s get those two gays out. Let’s get the gays out next’”

“I kicked off with the producer. I said ‘Get the series producer right now’. At the end of the day it is cheating. Everyone got a yellow card.”

However, Channel 4 have clarified that the contestants actually received a yellow card from Brendan as punishment for rowdy behaviour the previous night.

At the vote, Ottavio and Bradley received a second yellow card with some contestants blaming them for their earlier punishment and the subsequent bad atmosphere on the coach. There is no evidence to suggest that the votes were in any way motivated by homophobia.

So is it all just sour grapes?

“I got called horrible names. They compared me to the devil,” Ottavio added. “They were like ‘You’re going nowhere love’. We have not kept in touch with any of them.”

A Coach Trip spokesperson told us: “Coach Trip treats allegations of bullying and discrimination very seriously and the production team feel there was no evidence to support allegations of any such behaviour at the time of filming.”

Regardless, the duo were sent packing from the show. Never mind, we’re sure they’ll have much more success dealing with the X Factor judges. Right?

Bookies are even tipping the pair – dubbed ‘the new Jedward’ – to make it through to the live shows.

“We would divide the nation but I think we will get more lovers than haters,” they said.
