X Factor's Matt Terry (kind of) denies kissing Freddy Parker

Matt Terry’s X Factor win on Sunday night was dramatically overshadowed by one thing and one thing only: Freddy Parker.

The blonde hopeful had been eliminated in Week Two of the competition and seemed overcome with emotion at the news that Matt had won.

Matt insists he and Freddy are just good friends.

As the eliminated contestants made their way on stage to join Matt as he sang his debut solo single, ‘When Christmas Comes Around’, Freddy ran ahead of the other aspiring stars and enveloped Matt in a huge bear hug from behind.

He continued to caress and cuddle Matt until the song finished, when the whole group had a massive hug and Matt appeared to turn and kiss Freddy whilst shrouded by the other contestants.

Although it was difficult to say for certain what had happened, Twitter erupted as viewers insisted that Matt and Freddy were the X Factor’s “secret couple”, which had been reported two weeks earlier.

The moment that drove Twitter wild.

However, Matt has now given a half-hearted denial of the smooch, telling The Sun: “I don’t think we kissed.

“But he would have been lucky if we did!”

You don’t think you kissed, Matt? Would you like to ask the audience or phone a friend to get a more definite answer?

Although he was dubious about kissing him, Matt did go on to insist that there was nothing romantic going on between himself and Freddy, sharing: “Freddy is like my little brother, he’s supported me so much. We hit it off on day one.

Freddy was overjoyed by Matt's win.

“He was crying his eyes out when I won but there is no relationship, I’m afraid guys. Sorry about that.”

Hmm, we guess it’s back to the drawing board as we try to figure out who the secret relationship involves then…
