The year is nearly at an end and we must say, the telly gods have given us some incredible moments this year, from Matisse the dog winning Britain’s Got Talent to Suranne Jones’ fantastic starring role on BBC One’s Doctor Foster.

But no one has made us laugh, cheer and fall so madly in love as this lady. That’s why Yahoo Celebrity is VERY pleased to announce that we have named Nadiya Hussain - the winner of the Great British Bake Off and woman of a thousand facial expressions - our TV Personality of the Year 2015!

Over the autumn, Nadiya won the hearts of the British public with her show-stopping baking talent (that snake charmer’s basket anyone?!), as well as her endearing self-deprecating humour, and more than 13 million of us jumped off our sofas as she was crowned this year’s Bake Off champ in October. That’s more eyeballs than X Factor, Strictly and EastEnders’ Lucy Beale killer reveal.

Speaking exclusively to Yahoo Celeb over, what else, but some delicious cake (big thank you to our friends at Hummingbird Bakery!), Nadiya admitted she was shocked by the honour.

“How did you get to this conclusion? How do you work that out? I’ll have it!” she quipped in disbelief.

It’s safe to say life has changed dramatically for the mum-of-three, as she reveals that she can’t even pop to the shops for a pint of milk without being mobbed by fans of Bake Off.

Her newfound fame has even rubbed off on her kids and Nadiya says her youngest told her she wished Tamal had won instead! NOOOOO.

“My nine-year-old and eight-year-old are alright, they get that people want to come and say hello,” she says.

“My five-year-old clings to my leg, she said, ‘I wish Tamal had won. That would mean he gets to do the hard work and you don’t have to.’

“And I’m like, ‘No, my dear, I’m glad I won and I’m not giving Tamal that trophy!’ He’s not having it! He’s got a job!”

As well as having us drool over her cakes, Nadiya has been hailed for being a positive influence for British Muslims, the Asian community and stay-at-home mums.

That’s a big responsibility - but the Bake Off winner perfectly puts things into perspective in her own charming way.

“I went on a baking show and I won a baking show,” she says.

“Then you get all of this other stuff, you’re representing stay-at-home mums, and women, and Muslims, and Bangladeshis, I wasn’t expecting any of that. That was a shock.

“People come and tell me, ‘I’m a stay-at-home mum and you gave me the confidence to go out and do the shopping.’ Lots of people have said, ‘I’m going to apply for Bake Off.’ That’s nice. When people tell you that, that’s a good place to be.”

Nadiya has already become the most popular Bake Off winner in history with her own magazine column and a book due next year.

But what about returning to Bake Off as a judge? “Absolutely!” says Nadiya.

“But that would mean they’d have to get rid of someone. I’d go on as a third person.”

Hey, BBC, let’s make this happen PLEASE?!

CONGRATULATIONS NADIYA!
