Yankuba Minteh 'agrees personal terms' with unnamed club as Newcastle left with big decision

Newcastle United have been left with a huge decision to make on Yankuba Minteh after the winger agreed personal terms with an unnamed club.

As reported by Chronicle Live on Saturday, talks on the teenager's sale commenced over the weekend with the likes of Marseille, Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma interested while Everton were also believed to be in the mix. A £40million price tag is what Newcastle are looking for ahead of the PSR health check deadline on June 30.

Minteh's agent Bakary Bojang told Chronicle Live on Saturday morning: "It is correct that Newcastle are willing to sell the player if they receive a good offer. From our side if Newcastle wants to sell and the sporting project is good we will definitely look at it. We are in communication with some clubs."

But by Saturday night the deal had progressed and Mr Bojang added: "I can't confirm clubs who are in communication with us. We have agreed terms with one of the clubs. So now the rest is with Newcastle."

Newcastle's loan manager Shola Ameobi had been delighted with Minteh's progress after a successful loan with Feyenoord. He said last month: "Yankuba Minteh done amazingly this year. I think the vision for him was to see if he could play at that level. It was a big jump coming from Denmark with Odense but what he's done and the attitude he's got he's achieved that. He is athletically gifted but we knew he would develop tactically and technically."

However, it looks like the winger will soon be unveiled as a new signing with another scarf and his short stay at Newcastle is almost over.
