Young driver arrested after Co Armagh crash which left officers 'fearing the worst'

A young driver has been arrested after a crash in Co Armagh on Tuesday night.

PSNI officers responded to the collision in the Silverbridge area on May 7 and were left 'fearing the worst' after arriving at the scene.

The driver was able to exit the vehicle and was later arrested after roadside checks with a number of motoring offences.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Last night, Local Policing Team Officers alongside Slieve Gullion North Neighbourhood Polcing Team attended the scene of a Road Traffic Collision in the Silverbridge Area.

"Officers feared the worst on arrival however thankfully the young driver was able to walk out of this alive.

"Following roadside checks, the driver was arrested for a number of serious motoring offences. Enquiries are ongoing.

"Please take care on the roads, adhere to the speed limit and never ever drink and drive."
