Youths attack man in trouble-plagued Stoke-on-Trent street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a gang of youths attacked a man in a trouble-plagued Stoke-on-Trent street.

Officers were alerted to an assault in St John Street, Northwood, last Wednesday (June 19). They are now trying to trace both the victim and the suspects as an investigation continues.

The incident came on the same day a handgun and class A drugs in the alleyway off the same street. It followed searches of properties on St John Street as well as on Chaplin Road, in Normacot.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine in connection with the discovery.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Staffordshire Police have been made aware of an incident that has occurred on St John Street whereby a male has been assaulted by a group of youths. Staffordshire Police would like to speak to the victim or any witnesses. If you are aware of the incident please get in touch."
