YouTuber Zoella in hot water following ill-advised Bill Cosby tweet

Zoe Sugg, aka Zoella, is one of the biggest YouTubers on the planet, with the 27-year-old vlogger boasting almost 12million YouTube subscribers and 9.8million followers on Twitter.

In spite of her monumental success, Zoe has managed to maintain a relatively squeaky clean image, with the young star having a tendency to expertly avoid drama and controversy.

Which is probably why her fans were so shocked when she posted an ill-advised tweet with a Bill Cosby gif, with Zoe heaping praise on her friend Tanya Burr’s make-up range at the time.

Writing: “Excuse me @TanyaBurr but I am OBSESSED with your pink illuminating powder”, Zoe added a gif of Cosby to demonstrate her excitement.

The 80-year-old actor is currently embroiled in a hugely controversial trial, with the comic due to be re-tried on sexual assault charges in November after his first trial ended with a hung jury.

Zoe was seemingly unaware of Cosby’s history and was quickly inundated with tweets from stunned followers:

Upon learning of her mistake, the YouTuber swiftly deleted the tweet, apologising for the mishap.

She wrote: “Thanks for letting me know about that GIF guys, I wasn’t aware of him. Maybe twitter should remove that from the ‘makeup’ drop down…”

She then posted her original tweet again, although this time with a gif of US comedian Miranda Sings.
