28-year-old YouTube star Zoella, real name Zoe Sugg, has been slammed by readers of her latest book, ‘Cordially Invited.’

The £20 self-help style book offers some surprisingly obvious lifestyle tips – including how to make a sandwich and the importance of carrying an umbrella during the months of spring.

“When ready to assemble your sandwiches, lay your bread out on your work surface and butter each slice,” reads one passage.

“Take an umbrella — weather can be a little unpredictable at this time of year so it’s best to be prepared,” reads another.

The YouTube sensation boasts almost 12 million followers on her Zoella YouTube account and almost 5 million on her Zoe Sugg YouTube account. She is also the sister of fellow YouTuber Joe Sugg – who is currently competing on Strictly Come Dancing.

Despite her massive fan following, readers of the book have flocked to Amazon to slam its ‘simplicity.’

One review advised customers ‘not to buy this book’ because it ‘gives tips like ‘change the beds’ every season and suggests that you choose spring/summer etc duvets.’

While another says the book includes instructions on how to write on a chalk board.

‘Chalk board signs.. buy the board & pen & then she puts ‘Step One think of what you want to write, step two write it,’ the frustrated customer wrote.

Reviewers also claimed the book lacked originality and that many of the ideas can be found for free on Pinterest or through a quick Google search.

“I think it’s insulting to have things like “change your bed” or “clean your house” as actual ideas and organisation tips. Absolutely no originality or effort has gone into this book,” another reviewer wrote.

Dozens of rival YouTubers have published videos on why Zoella’s latest book is ‘a scam.’ One video titled ‘Scamella Strikes Again!!!’ has over 1.6 million views and slams the book as ‘a mess.’

This is not the first time Zoella has come under scrutiny for her products. Last Christmas she was heavily criticised for her £50 advent calendar available exclusively at Boots.

Many unhappy customers published their disappointment at the calendar’s contents, with one calling it ‘cheap tat’ and another ‘disgustingly overpriced.’ The calendar’s contents included stickers, a pen, a bauble and two cookie cutters.
