You've Got To See The Proposal By The Facebook Glitch Couple

The two strangers who fell in love due to a Facebook glitch got engaged after the boyfriend again hacked into her account to pop the question.

Schuler and Celeste Benson hit the headlines earlier this week after it emerged they’d first met because he kept finding himself logged into her profile.

Following a lot of back and forth posts, the pair eventually became Facebook friends in 2009 and the glitch was fixed.

But they later decided to take it a step further. And when they met in person in 2013, they ended up falling in love.

Almost six years after they first made contact with each other, Schuler decided Celeste was the one for him.

However, considering the way they met, he decided there was only one way he could make the proposal extra special.

So he hacked into Celeste’s Facebook account again, on purpose this time, to ask the special question.

“***ATTENTION: This is NOT Celeste. Her account has been HACKED… for the SECOND TIME.***,” he wrote as her status update.

He revealed the history behind their relationship, saying they’d beaten odds of 1 in 175,000,000 to hook up.

Schuler went on to say: “As amazing as our story is, it puts me at a disadvantage. If I were to ask Celeste to marry me, I wouldn’t be able to take her to the place we first met, because it wasn’t a physical location.

"So I’m coming back here. Celeste, I’m hacking into your Facebook account for the second time (on purpose for the first time ;)) to ask you a question.

"In a sea of millions of people going in millions of different directions, without even knowing we were looking, we found one another. You are truly my other half, and I want us to be with each other, in love, always. Will you marry me?”

Celeste - from Boulder, Colorado - said yes, and moved with Schuler - originally from Arkansas - to South Carolina.

They tied the knot in June.
