With her soppy appearance and unmistakable tongue, Zappa the dog has truly got life licked.

The 15-year-old Italian greyhound has had dental issues since being a puppy which have given her her distinctive appearance.

Her parents and siblings were show dogs, but Zappa has found fame thanks to her more unconventional beauty.

She now only has two teeth left, but according to owners Sadie and Rosalie Millen still eats normally and lives a happy, spoiled life.

Sadie, 23, from Pewaukee, Wisconsin, said: 'Zappa's tongue started sticking out a few years ago. This is due to dental issues that are common to the breed.

'She sleeps under jackets, blankets, and even inside people's shirts. She has an impressive wardrobe that helps her stay warm and stylish all year long.

'Zappa lives with two other dogs, a standard poodle named Bazinga and a shih poo named Dylan, as well as four hairless guinea pigs, Peanut, Pickles, Pepper, and Pipsqueak.

'We hope to show how rewarding it can be to take care of a senior dog. Zappa brings so much joy to our lives. It has been amazing how Zappa's social media accounts have connected us with dog lovers from all over the world. Nothing feels better than when someone tells us that a picture of Zappa made their day.'
