Following a brief break away from the public eye after the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Zara and Mike Tindall were all smiles as they arrived at Wimbledon today on day two of the championships.

The husband and wife duo are the first members of the Royal Family to attend the 2022 edition of the legendary tennis tournament and dressed the part in co-ordinating white attire.

Zara, 41, showcased her style credentials in a white, belted Ralph Lauren shirt dress complete with an Aspinal of London crossbody bag and a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses, while Mike, 43, paired dark trousers with a white shirt, stone jacket and striped tie.

But it was Zara’s shoes that immediately caught our eye.

The Queen’s granddaughter was seen wearing a pair of summer wedge espadrilles from the same label frequented by Zara’s cousins-in-law: Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Cambridge.

The Castañer espadrilles are very popular with the female members of the Royal Family for events such as Wimbledon, or where walking is involved, for their sturdy, yet stylish, form.

Meghan and Kate, both 40, have at least one pair of the Carina style wedges by the Spanish brand, which features a comfortable 80mm heel with a canvas covered toe and wraparound ankle strap.

The Duchess of Cambridge most recently wore her pair of £120 Carina 80 suede wedge espadrilles for an appearance in Cambridgeshire last week, as her and Prince William revealed their first official painted portrait together.

A Wimbledon regular, Kate is known to be a huge fan of the game, took over the Patronage of the Lawn Tennis Association from the Queen in 2016 and is a royal box regular at the championships. She's even played a match with one of the UK's leading sportswomen, US Open champion Emma Raducanu.

It seems that Zara took a leaf out of Kate’s style book for staying comfortable at the South London tournament, as the former Olympian opted for the same Castaner shows to attend the competition last year, too.

Zara and Mike Tindall have attended Wimbledon matches on a number of occasions previously and, as great athletes themselves, are clearly fans of the sport.

As non-working members of the monarchy, the pair don't tend to disclose their appearances in advance and are able to enjoy events such as this one without cutting ribbons or shaking hands.
