Zayn Malik Cancels Radio 1 Interview With Greg James

It looks like we’re going to have to wait a little longer to see or hear Zayn Malik as a solo artist on the BBC, after the singer reportedly pulled out of his Radio 1 interview with Greg James.

Oh, Zayn.

Zayn, who released ‘Pillowtalk’ on Friday, was due to appear on Greg’s show yesterday, but cancelled 45 minutes before he was set to go live on air.

No reason has been given for his no-show, and an insider has told the MailOnline: “Radio 1 has supported Zayn from day one so it’s very disappointing for all the UK fans not to see him.

“They had so many people outside the studios and Greg had some big surprises lined up.”

Hundreds of fans had been waiting outside in the hopes of catching even just a glimpse of Zayn, but were left disappointed when he didn’t show up.

According to The Sun, Greg was even planning to give fans the opportunity to go into the studio and ask Zayn questions themselves.

An insider told them: “Radio 1 and Greg are big fans of Zayn. They are really disappointed because it was going to be something special for his fans, particularly the ones in the UK.

“They had moved a lot of things around to accomodate him and it’s just a real shame for listeners that they’ve been let down.”

This isn’t the first time Zayn’s cancelled last minute, though he was present for a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio.

Last week, the singer pulled out of his first solo TV appearance on The Graham Norton Show, with his rep telling The Mirror: “Unfortunately there was a scheduling conflict as Zayn is currently in the studio completing his album.”
