The female-centric spinoff of Ocean's Eleven is getting a little boyband flavour too.

Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway's heist movie Ocean's Eight has been busy shooting a star-studded scene set at New York's glitzy Met Gala this week, with a certain ex-One Direction star spotted on set.

According to Grazia, Zayn Malik was clocked filming a cameo with fellow fashion A-Listers Hailey Baldwin, Anna Wintour, Kendall Jenner and even Kim Kardashian West.

This big scene will apparently revolve around the theft of a priceless necklace from a museum bathroom - a premise that seems eerily similar to Kim Kardashian's own recent robbery in Paris.

Aside from his award-winning solo career, Zayn has been venturing further into the filmmaking game with this Ocean's Eight role and an upcoming NBC drama series loosely based on his experiences with One Direction.

All of these cameos only bolster an already-incredible cast led by Oscar winners Bullock, Blanchett and Hathaway and anchored by Emmy winner Sarah Paulson, comic genius Mindy Kaling and pop superstar Rihanna.

There's also talk of Matt Damon reprising his Ocean's Eleven character Linus Caldwell to team with this awesome female squad against Homeland's Damian Lewis.

Ocean's Eleven filmmaker Steven Soderbergh is producing the remake, and The Hunger Games' Gary Ross directs.

Ocean's Eight is hitting cinemas in the US on June 8, 2018, with a UK release yet to be set.
