Giant Leap For Record-Breaking Rollerblader

A Frenchman has set a new world record for the longest jump on rollerblades after carrying out the stunt in front of thousands of spectators.

Taig Khris, 35, launched himself off a 150-metre long ramp at Paris' Sacre Coeur Basilica (Sacred Heart) monument and achieved a distance of 29 metres.

After an initial jump of 28.4 metres, Khris had already broken the previous world record of 24 metres, set by American Danny Way.

Spurred on by the large crowd that had gathered to see him, the adrenalin junkie rolled down the custom-made launch pad.

And he managed to narrowly improve his first leap before safely landing on an inflatable cushion.

Last May, Khris achieved a world record by performing the highest jump off the first floor of France's iconic Eiffel Tower.
