Video: Deer stuck on frozen lake rescued

It’s not only humans that struggle to cope in icy weather, but animals do too as this heartwarming video shows.

A deer, we aptly named Bambi, got into a spot of bother after getting stranded in the middle of a frozen lake in Kenora, Canada.
Luckily, some people spotted the deer and rushed to its rescue on ice skates as the frightened deer lies flat on its belly unable to stand up.

Using a makeshift harness from rope and a lifejacket to get the deer out of the slippy situation, the rescuers manage to slide the animal to the edge of the icy lake where it escaped onto firmer ground.
