2024 Met Gala co-chairs Zendaya, J.Lo show up without dates

NEW YORK — Zendaya and Jennifer Lopez were all business in the front for the 2024 Met Gala.

As the first A-listers to dazzle the red carpet, the actresses — who served as co-chairs of fashion’s biggest night — didn’t have their boos on their arms; Tom Holland and Ben Affleck were noticeably absent.

Zendaya was an edgy, blue and green-hued spectacle in a Maison Margiela corseted gown with a tulle fishtail effect. The Emmy Award-winning “Euphoria” star, who returned to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute after five years away, was only flanked by handlers, including her head-turning image architect, Law Roach.

She and Holland have been dating since 2021. But he is reportedly overseas working. The “Spider-Man” star is currently in rehearsals for his return to London’s West End in the titular role of “Romeo & Juliet,” which begins May 11 at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

Meanwhile, J.Lo was solo and stunning in a sheer custom Schiaparelli gown with sequins and dramatic beading that reportedly took over more than 800 hours to hand embroider.

The “Can’t Get Enough” singer — who married Affleck in 2022 — has previously worn Ralph Lauren or Versace during her dozen-plus times at the Met Gala.

As far as her Oscar winning spouse is concerned, E! News reports that Affleck is busy shooting a sequel to his 2016 action flick, “The Accountant,” in Los Angeles.

Arriving without your spouse wasn’t the protocol all of the evening’s co-chairs adhered to.

Though Bad Bunny didn’t have any arm candy to accompany his Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano suit, Chris Hemsworth, wearing an off-white Tom Ford suit, was joined on the red carpet by his wife, Elsa Pataky.
