Aaron Connolly has seemingly posted a goodbye message on social media after Hull City's season came to a disappointing end on Saturday afternoon at Plymouth Argyle.

City's 1-0 loss against the Pilgrims coupled with West Brom's 3-0 home victory over Preston ended any lingering hopes of finishing inside the top six, and with the campaign now over, the future of a host of players has come into focus including the 24-year-old.

For the fourth game in a row, Connolly wasn't in the Tigers squad at Home Park and has only played a total of 64 minutes in the 19 games since the defeat to Norwich City on January 12 which saw him badly hurt, and just one minute against Middlesbrough in the last six.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion striker is out of contract this summer, having penned a one-year deal 12 months ago after impressing during a loan spell at City in the second half of last season, and with his career at the MKM Stadium seemingly coming to an end ahead of a busy week of meetings between Rosenior and his players, Connolly wrote 'Loved my time at Hull City' on his Instagram page.

Since rejoining the club last summer, Connolly scored eight goals in 28 Championship appearances for the Tigers but has struggled since the turn of the year, and his clash with Canaries goalkeeper Angus Gunn saw him suffer a concussion and shoulder problem, with his last goal in Amber and Black coming in the 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers at the end of December.
