Adele reflects on '21' as album reaches 10th anniversary

Adele has commemorated the 10th anniversary of the release of 21.

It was the second album for the singer following her debut 19, but she's now said she recalls little of "what it was like" at the time and how she felt 10 years ago.

Posting a photo of the album cover to Instagram with two more snaps of her from a shoot, the 32-year-old wrote: "Well I never! Happy 10 years old friend!

"It’s crazy how little I remember of what it was like and how I felt a decade ago. But Thank You from the bottom of my heart for letting us into your lives and letting me be a soundtrack to some of it x."

The record garnered seven Grammy awards, including album of the year, and spawned hits such as Someone Like You and Rolling in the Deep.

She followed it up with 25 in 2015, another huge hit that earned her five further Grammys.

Last year, there were rumours that the mother-of-one would be putting out her follow-up to 25 in 2020, however, during a stint as guest host on Saturday Night Live in October she confirmed the album wasn't finished.

Her close friend Alan Carr has given a small insight into the album, teasing the new music is "amazing".

The comedian told Grazia: "I've heard some tracks on it. Oh my gosh, it's so amazing. It's so amazing."

Last week it was reported that Adele had reached a divorce settlement with ex-husband Simon Konecki.

The pair welcomed son Angelo in 2012 and went on to marry in 2016 but announced in early 2019 that they had gone their separate ways.
