Riley hangs over the wall outside his LA home, throwing his ball out onto the street below in the hope that someone walking past will throw it back.
When his sweet trick was caught on camera and shared to the Twitter feed of @WeRateDogs, many of its 7 million followers fell in love.

The video has now been viewed 9.7 million times, boosting the cute canine’s own social media presence in the process (he now has more than 11,000 followers on Instagram and is followed by 4,500 people on Twitter).
The viral video has been shared on Riley’s own feed with the caption: “My secrets out! Someone filmed me purposely dropping my toy as a ploy to get a passerby to stop and play!”

When he’s not playing ball, the rescue pup loves getting dressed up in honour of everything from Independence Day to Red Nose Day.
Currently in training to be a therapy dog for kids, the pup is already something of a local legend, with several past and present neighbours sharing their stories of living near the popular pooch.
One ex-neighbour shared a picture from 2014 on Twitter with the caption: “He’s been at it for years! I used to love him when I lived next door too.”
No need to teach an old dog new tricks when his game is as good as this, though.
