Alan Carr confirms plans for 'Strictly Come Dancing' next year?

Alan Carr appears to have confirmed that he’ll appear on Strictly Come Dancing next year.

The comedian appeared on the show last week during the series final, as the celebrity reading out the voting terms and conditions.

But he’s revealed that producers later ‘cornered’ him while he was there, and told him they wanted him for the show’s 2019 series.

Appearing on Loose Women, he said: “Oh my listen. Listen, I will do it but next year I’ve got a busy year.

“They cornered me and asked me to do it. But I hate those VTs. They go to Chester Zoo. I want to be in the studio now doing an Argentine Tango.”

Yesterday, The Sun reported that he was set to take on the celebrity dance contest, a source telling the paper: “Alan has met with the bosses and they all hit it off straight away.

“He’s a perfect celebrity for Strictly because he’s popular, funny and throws himself into everything — but has never had a day’s dance training in his life. What’s certain is he won’t hold back.”

The show’s host Tess Daly added: “People have been approached. I’ve heard there’s a few who have already confirmed.”

The 2018 show found documentary maker Stacey Dooley winning the Glitterball Trophy, with five-time finalist Kevin Clifton.
