Alan Carr looks set to jump from Channel 4 to ITV to test out a new potential karaoke series called Singalong: The Show.

The Chatty Man host's exclusivity deal with C4 recently ran out, meaning he has the option to explore other broadcasting opportunities.

As part of that, he will film a pilot for the new ITV show next week, according to The Sun, with contestants taking on a series of musical-based challenges.

Singalong also comes from the makers of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, which is not due to air this weekend following Ant McPartlin's arrest over the weekend.

However, ITV has insisted that it is very much "early days", and that nothing is guaranteed at this moment in time, while a representative for Carr confirmed to Digital Spy that it was a "non TX ITV pilot" – one that is not going to be transmitted.

Channel 4 also insisted that Alan will still work with it on a number of continuing projects in a statement to Digital Spy.

"We're aware of Alan's other projects as he continues to work for Channel 4 on shows as diverse as Crufts, The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer, the new gameshow I Don't Like Mondays and the Stand Up to Cancer campaign airing later this year," they said.

Meanwhile, Alan was recently confirmed to be making a cameo appearance in Hollyoaks, with a picture posted of him on set with his dogs.
