Alex Jones: ‘It Would Be Amazing To Have A Family’

The One Show presenter Alex Jones has revealed her hopes for starting a family with Charlie Thomson.

The two tied the knot at Cardiff Castle on New Year’s Eve last year.

Though admitting that it can be ‘insensitive’ to ‘ask women of a certain age’ about whether they’re going to start a family or not, Alex explained that she and Charlie are thinking about having their first child.

She told Essentials magazine: “It would be amazing to have a family. So many of my friends are going through complete hell trying to create a family and obviously really wanting one, but it’s just not always very simple.

“We haven’t started the process, so we don’t know yet how things will go, hopefully everything will be fine.”

She added: “I think it can be insensitive to ask women of a certain age if they’re going to have children because you just don’t know what’s going on in their lives.

“My mum would never pressurise me about giving her more grandchildren. I think she understands the pace of life these days, especially for me in London.”

She added that despite her expectations, it feels ‘quite different’ now that she’s married to Charlie, revealing: “Everything about our relationship is warmer and more comforting.

“It instantly feels safer, more complete – more like being a part of a team.”
