Alison Hammond has hit back at a troll after receiving negative comments following her Celebrity Bake Off debut.

The presenter, who regularly appears on ITV's This Morning, replaced Matt Lucas as co-host for the baking contest in 2023.

She has now made her official Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer entrance, joining Noel Fielding on hosting duties, whilst judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood were once again called to taste the celebrities' delicacies.

After the show aired on Channel 4 earlier this month, Hammond was targeted online with a cruel message. Noticing she was tagged in the vile post, she urged the author to keep their "nasty comment" to themselves.

"Why is that I'll be having a lovely day and then someone who doesn't know from Adam writes such nasty message," Hammond wrote on Twitter/X, referencing a commentator who called her a "real nasty piece of work".

"Don't @ me keep Your nasty comment to yourself #bekind always," she added.

In the aftermath of the online incident, fans flocked to Hammond's comments section to voice their support, with several people sharing praise for the host.

But fans aren't the only ones who think Hammond is a much welcome addition to Celebrity Bake Off. In an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, one of this year's celeb bakers, Yinka Bokinni, shared her experience and said Hammond was a pleasure to work with.

"It was a very warm, wholesome time. Alison – it was her first celeb season," Bokinni said. "She'd just finished the regular season. It was her first celeb season, and she's wonderful."

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer is available to watch and stream on Channel 4.
