Amanda Holden says 'best thing' after scathing Sharon Osbourne attack

Amanda Holden has discussed "the best thing" in a new Instagram update, a day after she was the subject of a scathing attack from Sharon Osbourne.

Amanda, 53, had seemingly hit out at Sharon, 71, over comments made in the latest series of Celebrity Big Brother. Sharon had appeared on the reality show along with her former X Factor co-star Louis Walsh.

During their stay in the house, Sharon said she would never work with Simon Cowell again while her friend and fellow Big Brother housemate Louis Walsh also hit out saying Simon "makes everything about him".

Amanda, who works with Simon on Britain's Got Talent, quickly leapt to his defence. She told the Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine: 'I hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon - he's the person who's given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn't have had."

Part of a lengthy response from Sharon on social media, in which Amanda was tagged, read: "Unlike you, the brand of Sharon Osbourne is known worldwide" and later added: "Yes, Simon paid me very well, probably more than what you're receiving today but all of that, my darling, went on a few handbags."

Sharon later said: "Never make comments about my lifestyle given to me by Simon Cowell. It's demeaning to me and my husband and all the achievements I have made in my life as you're making yourself look like an ill-informed sycophantic."

Amanda has not publicly reacted to the statement, but has since shared a number of snaps on Instagram as she appears to enjoy a wholesome weekend with her family. A new update on her Instagram Story shows Amanda discussing a new dress from her Lipsy London range.

She said the dress can "take you from day to night" before adding "the best thing about half these dresses, actually, from this collection, you can roll them up and stick them in your suitcase. Winner."
