We've lost track of just how many shows American Horror Story's Ryan Murphy oversees.

From the aforementioned series, to American Crime Story to Feud, he's certainly one of the hardest-working people in Hollywood.

Well, he's now gone and unveiled his next project – his first with original series for Netflix – which will be a "love letter" to Hollywood's Golden Age.

"Hollywood - my new Netflix show co-created with Ian Brennan - begins principal photography this summer," Murphy revealed on Instagram yesterday (February 22).

He continued: "A love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown, this straight-to-series production will be my third show for Netflix and I couldn’t be more excited or proud about the work we are doing together. More to come…".

Murphy has also made The Politician and Ratched for Netflix, though they're both 20th Century Fox productions.

Hollywood comes a year after Murphy signed a massive deal with the streaming giant following his years with 20th Century Fox, which is said to be worth $300 million – the largest of its kind.

"The history of this moment is not lost on me," Murphy said at the time. "I am a gay kid from Indiana who moved to Hollywood in 1989 with $55 dollars in savings in my pocket, so the fact that my dreams have crystallised and come true in such a major way is emotional and overwhelming to me.

"I am awash in genuine appreciation for Ted Sarandos, Reed Hastings, and Cindy Holland at Netflix for believing in me and the future of my company which will continue to champion women, minorities, and LGBTQ+ heroes and heroines, and I am honoured and grateful to continue my partnership with my friends and peers at Fox on our existing shows."
