And Just Like That fans confused by Sam Smith cameo
The singer popped up in the latest episode of the show
Sex And The City fans were left scratching their heads as Sam Smith made a cameo in the show’s spin-off, saying it felt “random” and a bit “unnecessary”.
The Stay With Me singer — who shared in 2019 that they are non-binary and use they/them pronouns — turned up in the latest instalment of And Just Like That, which follows Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they navigate life in their 50s.
The scene saw Smith shopping for art at Charlotte’s gallery, clad in an eye-catching blue outfit.

“Unpopular opinion #samsmith was an unnecessary cameo,” said another.
Someone else remarked: “Sam Smith?
"So random.”
“Didn’t need the Sam Smith cameo,” said another viewer.
“Sam Smith just pops up?” asked someone else, as another fan wondered: “What is the actual point to Sam Smith in #AndJustLikeThat.”
However, others thought it was a “sweet” scene, with one saying “it made my day”.
“Sam Smith looks great,” said another.
"Who knew what I needed to end my day was a Sam Smith cameo," said another viewer, along with a heart emoji.
And Just Like That is set to host another cameo this series, with Kim Cattrall coming back.
The actor starred as Samantha Jones in Sex And The City and its two spin-off films and fans were devastated when it emerged that she would not be returning for And Just Like That amid reports of a feud.
