Andrew Scott tells fans to 'stop watching, stop crying' about “Fleabag”'s Hot Priest 5 years later

The "Ripley" star laughs as he shares a very irreverent message to "Fleabag" fans still lusting after his character on the series finale's 5th anniversary.

Next week marks five years since the series finale of Fleabag left us all lusting after Andrew Scott's Hot Priest. But as the milestone anniversary approaches, Scott has a very important message for fans still obsessed with his character and the show all these years later.

"Go out and get some fresh air," the Ripley star tells EW with a laugh. "Stop watching. Stop crying. Stop crying in your room with your curtains closed. Do something better with your life. It's a great show, we all love it, but come on now, pull yourself together. Open the curtains and go outside."

Say it ain't so, Hot Priest! Who else needs a gin and tonic to cool down from Scott's fiery words? Watch him deliver his very unholy message in the video below:

Dublin native Scott joined season 2 of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's critically beloved and Emmy-winning dramedy in his breakout role as sexy clergyman The Priest, but was instantly renamed Hot Priest as he took the internet by storm.

Sadly, the series ended April 8, 2019 on a tragic note for the star-crossed lovers whose romance was forbidden. But despite what Scott says, fans can always keep reliving their doomed relationship over and over again — even though he previously told EW, "People will forget about the Hot Priest." Clearly, that's just blasphemy.
