I'm A Celebrity: All Stars is reported to have been 'shelved' by ITV, despite the ratings success of its first series, which saw Ant and Dec head to South Africa with a host of former contestants.

Prior to heading back to Australia for the first time in three years, after the Covid pandemic forced I'm A Celebrity to switch from Down Under to a castles in Wales, in both 2020 and 2021, Ant and Dec jetted to Cape Town to film the star studded spin-off, with the plan being that it would air in the normal version's place, should travel restrictions spoil things again.

However, with ITV given the green light to return to the Aussie jungle, there was no need for All Stars to air in late 2022, with it instead being kept in the can until spring last year, when it aired nightly and was won by Myleene Klass, seventeen years on from her first appearance on I'm A Celebrity and with no publlc vote to decide the outcome.

As former stars like Joe Swash, Phil Tufnell and Helen Flanagan also starred in All Stars, it averaged an impressive 5.2 million viewers across its run on ITV1, but, despite that success, there are currently no plans to bring it back, with an insider telling The Sun: "ITV have decided I'm A Celebrity South Africa will not return this year and there are currently no plans for another series.

“It may well return in the future so it’s not necessarily gone for good, but it definitely won’t be happening this year and there is nothing set in stone for when it will be."

In response, an ITV spokesperson, while celebrating the viewing figures for series one, claimed that it was 'never planned' for the programme to return this year.
