Gogglebox fans and stars alike were in floods of tears over an emotional show.

Between rounds of laughter and jokes, some moments in the Channel 4 show are just enough to bring people to tears - and that's what happened during The Piano. Fronted by Claudia Winkleman, the programme returned to TV screens as a grand piano is set up in UK train stations to search for talented individuals.

People watching (and re-watching through Friday night's new episode of Gogglebox) were in floods of tears when hearing Duncan's segment. The Malone's, from Manchester, joked before the show aired and passed around a box of tissues "in case it got a bit moving".

But, it was Jenny Newby was sobbing after reacting to a recent episode that featured dementia sufferer Duncan, who paid tribute to his wife Fran in an emotional performance witnessed by a crowd at Manchester Piccadilly Station.

The 80-year-old told Claudia he'd been playing the piano since he was four years old and that the couple had been married for 42 years. Fran confessed she knew straight away that she loved Duncan.

Fran said: "There is a vulnerability there now that wasn't there before and there is an awful lot more that I need to do... the future is unknown. Duncan is everything to me, I would have him in any situation rather than not have him."

Jenny wiped away tears as she asked best mate Lee: "Don't tell me he's got dementia or that will set me off". The Worthington's were also in tears as well as Shirley, watching in Cardiff with husband Dave.

Elsewhere, sisters Izzi and Ellie Warner commented: "Where's my Duncan? I want a Duncan! Is that too much to ask?

"You do not get this in this day and age, do you? Men in 2024 are scraping the barrel!"

Roisin, watching in Glasgow, said: "You do feel like you get a glimpse of their life, don't you, when he's playing that?". Her partner Joe responded: "It's like he's telling a story or something."

Viewers were also emotional by Duncan's tribute as they flocked to X. One said: "I’m absolutely bawling here at Duncan playing the piano!"

Another paired drying emojis with: "Few TV shows seem to touch people like The Piano!". Another commented: "I cried the first time and I'm absolutely gone AGAIN after seeing Duncan!"

The famous telly watchers also commented on programmes such at ITV's The 1% Club, This Morning and MILF Manor on Discovery+. Gogglebox airs on Channel 4.
