Ant McPartlin will be making his return to TV for the next series of Britain’s Got Talent, according to Declan Donnelly.

McPartlin was planning to take a year off from his TV work while he dealt with problems surrounding addiction, but it sounds like he’ll be back sooner than expected.

Dec told The Daily Mirror: “It’s back to normal for BGT – fingers crossed it will be great.”

Britain’s Got Talent will begin filming its first auditions for the next series just after Christmas, for six days from January 18 at the London Palladium.

Ant was replaced on the most recent series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, with This Morning’s Holly Willoughby drafted in alongside Dec.

Donnelly praised his new co-host, saying: “There is nobody I would have preferred to have stood next to.

“We were thrilled with the ratings, they are absolutely great. Holly has been fantastic too, just brilliant. She was the one I wanted and I am thrilled she did it.”

McPartlin announced in August that he’d be taking a year off work, after being convicted of drink-driving following a three-car collision in March, 2018.

He was banned from driving for 20 months, and fined £86,000.
