Anti-fox hunting protester shouts 'kill May' as PM arrives in Wrexham

A man protesting against fox hunting shouted "save our wildlife, kill May" as the Prime Minister arrived at an election campaign event.

The protester, who said his name was Connor, continued his protest in Wrexham as he was grabbed by officers and taken to a police van.

He said he was demonstrating against the Hunting Act, which the Conservatives have proposed repealing, as well as fracking, austerity, "the lot".

"This is the fascist state that we are living in under Theresa May's regime," he shouted.

"I've not done nothing wrong."

The man, 25, who also played a hunting bugle during the protest, was arrested for breaching the peace and later released without charge.

It happened as Mrs May arrived by car at Gresford Memorial Hall to launch the Welsh Conservative manifesto.

She announced there will be an "absolute limit" on how much people will have to pay for their social care in a watering down of her reform after an angry backlash over the so-called "dementia tax".
