I'm a Celebrity hits its highest rating series in the show's history

After last night's final episode, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2018 has officially become the highest rating series in the show's history.

The latest series attracted a huge peak audience of 12.1 million viewers to see Harry Redknapp become 2018's winner, when the former football manager was crowned the first king of the jungle since 2014.

The final episode's ratings averaged at 10.9 million viewers, which according to official figures from ITV, have increased by 1.7 million viewers in comparison to last year's final episode when Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo won.

The 2018 coronation was the most watched for the show since 2013 and, based on seven day consolidated data, the series averaged at 12.2 million viewers to become the highest rating series in the show's history after it first began back 16 years ago in 2002. Not bad. Not bad at all.

The final was also met with a whole lot of approval online, as fans took to Twitter to praise the most recent series.

One viewer wrote: "This year’s #imaceleb has been a joy. It’s been so refreshing watching people support each other through thick and thin. Absolute tonic."

They added: "And I loved Holly [Willoughby]. She was fantastic. Well done everyone."

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here 2018 aired on ITV. The 2018 Coming Out Show will air on Wednesday, December 12 at 9pm.
