A housing provider in the North East has launched 18 apprenticeship opportunities for 16 year-olds outside of full-time education.

The openings, listed on Thirteen's website this week, offer a blend of trade and office-based roles from business administration to plumbing.

Apprenticeships typically last 1-5 years and equate to 37 full-time weekly work hours.

Selected trainees will gain paid work experience and will also have the opportunity of studying and academic training in a classroom.
