Armed police descend on park after schoolboy threatened with 'machete'

Armed police searched a park after a schoolboy was threatened by another teenager, who was possibly carrying a machete.

Police were called to the area of Crow Wood Park in Widnes at around 5.40pm on Sunday (April 21). It had been reported that a 13-year-old boy was threatened by another teenager, possibly armed with a machete.

The victim was not injured but was left shaken by the incident.

Officers, supported by firearms teams, conducted a search of the area and located a 14-year-old boy. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place and robbery.

He remains in custody.
