Diego Costa starts on the Atletico Madrid bench for tonight's Europa League semi-final first leg against Arsenal at the Emirates, while Mesut Ozil returns for the Gunners.

Diego Simeone confirmed yesterday that Costa was fit enough to return after a recent hamstring problem, but the striker - who plagued Arsenal during his time at Chelsea - is among the substitutes for tonight's clash.

Arsene Wenger - who oversees his final European home game as Gunners boss before he ends his 22-year stay in north London this summer - welcomes Ozil back after a recent illness, with the German starting alongside Danny welbeck and Alexandre Lacazette in attack.

The French coach has also shown faith in cup goalkeeper David Ospina, with regular No.1 Petr Cech on the bench.

Arsenal XI: Ospina; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Xhaka, Ramsey, Wilshere; Ozil, Welbeck, Lacazette

Subs: Cech, Holding, Maitland-Niles, Kolasinac, Chambers, Iwobi, Nketiah

Atletico Madrid XI: Oblak; Vrasljko, Godin, Gimenez, Lucas; Correa, Saul, Partey, Koke; Gameiro, Griezmann
