ASCAP Promotes Greenaway, Jordan to Key Positions in U.K.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers boosted the responsibilities of two Brits in its London office by promoting Simon Greenaway to senior director, membership U.K. and continental Europe, and David Ryan Jordan to director, membership for the region.

Both Greenaway, who will lead the membership team for the performing rights organization, and Jordan will report to Neil Gaffney, ASCAP senior VP, international affairs.

“Simon and David both bring sweeping experience and insight to their work with music creators in the U.K. and across Europe,” said Gaffney in a statement. “Simon Greenaway is a composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist with a wide range of credits in music for recordings, film, television and advertising. David Ryan Jordan, as well, is a songwriter and musician of note. Each of them has a sterling network of contacts and will continue to bolster ASCAP’s U.K. and Continental European repertory.”

According to ASCAP, Greenaway — a 20-year veteran of the music biz and former writer-producer for the Welsh singer-songwriter Charlotte Church before joining ASCAP’s membership team in 2011 — has been a key recruiter of such composers such as Daniel Pemberton (“The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”) to the performing rights organization, and enjoys solid relationships with such movie maestros as Alex Heffes, Gary Yershon and Oscar winners Steven Price (“Gravity”) and Dario Marianelli (“Atonement”).

Prior to joining ASCAP in 2012, Jordan was a musician and songwriter in the band Air Traffic.

ASCAP touts 540,000 worldwide members representing more than 10 million copyrighted works.
