The Great British Bake Off star Kim-Joy Hewlett has got married in Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old baker and wellbeing practitioner - who was a runner-up in the 2018 series of the Channel 4 show - has tied the knot with partner Nabil Homsi, who she has known for nine years.

Hewlett revealed on Instagram: "Sooo… we got MARRIED!!!!

"@nabiltravels is my favourite person, my best friend and the most genuine, kind and funny person. I can’t believe we’re finally married, after first meeting about nine years ago now!"

The couple tied the knot at the Little Vegas Chapel in front of an Elvis Presley impersonator – despite the former Bake Off contestant confessing she didn't know any of his hits.

Hewlett went on: "We knew we wanted to do something fun and no pressure (especially cause we’ve put so much time, money and planning into the house renovation already!) - and as we were already headed to Vegas, we decided to just get married there! It was just me and Nabil, and our friends Simon and Charlotte who were on holiday with us. Oh… and Elvis. Which is funny cause we had to pick two Elvis songs and I didn’t know any. I just thought WHY NOT have Elvis there, cause we’re in Vegas!"

She said the wedding was "full of adventure and last minute pure luck" and revealed she bought her orange wedding dress the day before, while Homsi bought a wedding ring on the morning of the ceremony.

Hewlett also revealed the couple forgot all their important documents and so had to race back to their hotel to collect them in time for their wedding.

They celebrated by attending immersive art experience Omega Mart and enjoying a meal at a "random" restaurant that found them a table at the last minute.

Hewlett said: "Can’t believe I’m now Ms Homsi and we’re going to have a party back home at some point with friends and family."

The kooky star was runner-up to Rahul Mandal, 35, in the ninth series of Bake Off in 2018.

She has a Masters in psychology and has spoken publicly about her battles with depression and anxiety.
