The 2019 series of The Great Celebrity Bake Off has been full of firsts, from Russell Brand's vagina biscuit to James Acaster making a cream horn with scrambled eggs.

But one of the stand-out moments from last night's (March 19) charity special was Big Narstie taking a break from the competition to have a quick a snack.

Yep, while the other contestants – Jonny Vegas, Olympic athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Labour MP Jess Phillips – were busy making their shortbread biscuits, Big Narstie stopped to enjoy a sandwich.

To be fair, though, the contestants are in that tent all day working with food, and they would probably get sick of nibbling on sugary treats. Big Narstie is all of us, and all of us felt it:

Last night's episode also featured another Bake Off first that involved The Big Narstie Show host, or rather... it didn't.

The star was too unwell to take part in the showstopper, so they replaced one former grime artist with another: Sandi Toksvig.

Because Sandi, or Little Narstie as she was referred to, was a last minute addition, she was given a recipe from the judges, but it was decided that she shouldn't be in contention for Star Baker as she didn't take part in all three challenges.

She did get a Hollywood Handshake though, which you could argue is a better prize.

We won't spoil who did win the special charity episode in this article, but if you're curious then you can check that out here.

The Great Celebrity Bake Off continues next Tuesday (March 26) at 8pm on Channel 4. To find out more about Stand Up to Cancer, or to donate, visit the website.
