The agent of Luis Diaz will reportedly meet with Barcelona chiefs in the United States this week to discuss a possible summer switch from Liverpool.

The Reds winger has three years left on his deal at Anfield, having yet to be offered a renewal since his arrival in January 2022. Earlier this month, Diaz insisted he was 'very happy' at Liverpool and said he was 'not thinking about anything else' while away with Colombia at this summer’s Copa America.

However, speculation from Colombia this week has claimed that representatives of Diaz are set to imminently meet with Barcelona chiefs in the US. The Spanish side have been linked with a move for the winger for a number of months.

However, speculation from Colombia this week has claimed that representatives of Diaz are set to imminently meet with Barcelona chiefs in the US. The Spanish side have been linked with a move for the winger for a number of months.

Colombia start their campaign against Paraguay on Monday in Texas, and Spanish outlet Sport claims it has now been able to verify the aforementioned reports from Colombia, adding that the meeting will centre on personal terms.

It is claimed that Barcelona would have to sell a player or two in order to fund the arrival of Diaz, whose father revealed in December that his son was a 'loyal' fan of the Nou Camp outfit growing up.

Barcelona sporting chief Deco is presumed to be leading these supposed discussions, claims that are yet to be substantiated. Speaking to club media in May ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s farewell match at Anfield, Diaz hinted at his mindset ahead of the summer.

“There are many things to improve so we can have a perfect season. But I’m happy and content to be here," he said.

On Reds supporters creating a chant for him, he added: "I’m very happy. I thank them very much for what they are doing. I always go out happy to the field because I know I have their full support."
