Beyond Paradise has dropped a first look that hints at a major departure in the offing for one beloved Shipton Abbott character. The BBC detective series features DI Humphrey Goodman and his squad as they crack the most challenging cases in Shipton Abbott. But now, their police station faces a serious threat.

An exclusive clip shared with The Mirror shows Margo in a frantic bid to cut costs at the station to reduce energy consumption. With HQ scrutinising the station's expenses, there's mounting worry that job cuts could be imminent unless alternative savings are identified.

Margo cautions Kelby against using any unnecessary power and hints at possible layoffs, explaining that reducing staff numbers might be the only other solution, leaving Kelby visibly worried. Speculation about an impending exit has been building for weeks, with a tense scene in last week's episode's closing moments.

In a sneak peek, a distressed Kelby questions Margo: "Do you honestly think they could get rid of one of us? " to which she responds: "The chief super said nothing is off the table," sparking concern among viewers that someone may soon be shown the door, reports the Mirror.

Felicity Montagu, who plays Margo on the show, hinted at potential upheaval for the team, expressing her hopes that her character remains secure. She shared her thoughts: "Even if you go to the headquarters, they've got to have someone to answer the phones. She thinks she's needed, and I think she is," adding optimistically that she believes "the station will stay as it is" and admitting it would be "a very big shock" if Margo were to be written out.

As the plot unfolds, Anne Lloyd becomes a key figure in the campaign to save the local police station, stating her support: "Yes, to back a cause that is clearly common sense to keep it going in the interest of the safety of the community. Anne is very much community-minded and so was her husband."

Anne also fears the loss of the police station would strip Shipton Abbott of its cherished security, noting the station's popularity under Humphrey's charismatic leadership. "To be without the police station would mean that Shipton Abbott wouldn't have that sense of security that the community has really grown to like, and Humphrey has ended up being such an incredible personality, he's given it popularity and gets the job done. They're a wonderful team. Humphrey would be without a job, which is also a concern to her, if it were to close."
