BBC Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton has revealed the one word she thinks should be banned from motherhood. The Strictly Come Dancing star has taken a stance on discussing certain aspects of motherhood, advocating for a particular term to become off-limits.

The mum-of-thee finds herself busily managing her life with her children, sons Ernie, eight, and Louis, six, and two-year-old daughter Elsie. The children are from her previous marriage with Richie Myler, the renowned rugby player, reports The Mirror.

Speaking about her family life following her ex-husband's sudden exit from her life, Helen optimistically said they're "doing great" exclaiming that "there's plenty to be positive about". Richie walked out on their marriage just four months after their third child Elsie was born in April 2022.

Maintaining shared custody with Richie, who is said to be expecting his second child with Stephanie Thirkill, the daughter of Leeds Rhino president Andrew Thirkill, Helen remains positive. Richie and Stephanie debuted their newborn daughter last April.

Delving into an earnest interview, Helen - citing Strictly's therapeutic influence on healing emotional pain - provided insightful advice for her younger self. She said: "I'd encourage myself to enjoy things as nothing stays the same. Everything changes, so just embrace whatever stage you're in. Whatever will happen, will happen."

The former Blue Peter presenter, candidly spoke to OK! magazine about the concept of 'mum guilt', expressing her disdain for the term: "I think that's a term we should just never say out loud again. You could use that term about everything in your life. Are we not doing enough exercise do we feel guilty? Are we not eating enough vegetables do we feel guilty? It's a phrase that should be parked. You've got to really invest in the right energy and guilt is just a waste."

Following her stint on Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered with Gorka Marquez and finished as runner-up, Helen has undergone significant personal changes. After her marriage split, she finalised her divorce in December 2023, bought a new house and is now exploring the dating scene once more.

She is reportedly taking tentative steps back into dating, seeking "new adventures" rather than rushing into another serious relationship. A source told OK! that Helen is "reluctantly dipping her toe back into the dating pool" and isn't looking for immediate commitment.

The insider revealed: "After her trust was broken, she's nowhere near ready for an all-in long-term romance. But she's not closing herself off to anything anymore. She's open to new adventures in all respects and is making it her aim to say 'yes' to more things that excite her."

Regardless of her relationship status, Helen appears content with her life alongside her three children. She frequently posts updates on social media to her 500,000 followers, showcasing her daily activities.

She maintains a close friendship with many of her Strictly co-stars and is currently hosting a new travel show on Channel 5 alongside Dan Walker. Additionally, she has secured significant brand deals with fashion site JD Williams.
