BBC EastEnders icon drops return hint 15 years after emotional soap exit
Former EastEnders actor Cliff Parisi has shared his thoughts on a possible return to the iconic drama as he declared "never say never".
The 64-year-old year was all smiles as he appeared on Thursday's edition of The One Show to discuss his role as Fred Buckle in Call The Midwife amongst other things.
But while talking to presenters Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, Cliff, who previously played Minty Peterson in EastEnders, gave an honest reply when asked if he would return to Albert Square after fifteen years.
Alex said: "We have to ask because we said we would, Cliff, would you ever return to EastEnders to play Minty?"

Cliff replied: You know what, I loved playing Minty, I had such a ball and you know I've been watching the repeats, and I remember how much fun it was and what a laugh we had!"
He added: "So never say never, that's all I'd say. I really had fun doing it and I loved the show and I'm really grateful for everything it's done for me.
"So never say never, but I don't like going backwards, I like to keep my eyes on the forward."
Cliff portrayed the beloved character Minty and left the drama in 2010. Minty's departure was a significant moment for fans, as he had been a staple of the show since 2002.
His exit storyline revolved around his decision to leave Walford in search of a fresh start after facing personal struggles.
At the time, Minty was heartbroken over his failed relationships and the impact they had on his life. He chose to leave behind the hustle and bustle of the East End and try to rebuild his life elsewhere.
Minty's departure was marked by a heartfelt farewell with his close friends in the community, and the character’s exit was emotional but also offered a sense of hope.
Although Minty's time in Walford had come to an end, his storyline left a lasting impact on viewers, who had grown fond of his humorous, yet vulnerable nature.
But since his departure, Cliff has remained booked and busy. As well as his reoccurring part in Call the Midwife, he has also starred in Doctor Who.
The One Show airs Mondays-Fridays at 7pm on BBC One and EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am
