BBC's Homes Under the Hammer presenter Martin Roberts was left disgusted by a grim discovery as he entered a property on today's episode.

Martin co-hosted Thursday's edition of the BBC show with Dion Dublin. He was on-site to explore the first home featured in the episode, located in Stafford.

Initially taken with the property's exterior, Martin's expression quickly soured upon entering the house. He remarked: "The first thing you notice is this overwhelming smell of animal."

He added: "Even just glancing around, there are lots of signs of this place being shared by humans and canines. Downstairs loo has lots of scratch marks."

As he continued his inspection, Martin noted that the kitchen felt off, commenting: "Look at this. Actual dog hairs in the grease above the cooker. That is wild. Well that wasn't very pleasant."

Despite the initial state of the house, Martin pointed out that the main issues were cosmetic, suggesting it wouldn't be too difficult for new owners to tackle. The property had a guide price of £90,000 but eventually sold for £99,500 to Katie and AJ, a couple who had recently retired.

Following their renovation efforts, Martin praised the transformation, which included converting the house into a three-bedroom home. He estimated its value to be between £175,000 and £185,000 after the work was completed.
