BBC Inside No. 9's Steve Pemberton 'sorry' as he issues announcement on stage show

Inside No. 9 co-creator Steve Pemberton has apologised to fans as he revealed the stage show based on the programme will not tour the UK. The ninth and last series of the popular black comedy starts tonight on BBC Two at 10pm.

Steve announced the new series, writing: "Series 9 starts today folks and what a cast! @ReeceShearsmith, Finneran, Bonnar, Kelly, Cooper, Wokoma, Fry, Dunne - and not forgetting Mother. Werk hard, slay hard 10pm @bbctwo @BBCiPlayer #InsideNo9 #BootoaGoose."

But he also revealed he had been asked the same question by lots of fans - whether the stage show would tour after its run at the London's West End. Steve wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Lots of people asking if our stage show will tour after being on at the Wyndham’s theatre and I’m sorry to say that it won’t."

He then explained how people could get tickets.

Steve wrote yesterday: "Tickets go on sale tomorrow night at 7pm so book early to ensure disappointment. http://insideno9onstage.com Reece and I will be on The One Show tomorrow!"

The limited West End season runs from January 18 to April 15 2025 at London's Wyndham's Theatre. Tickets go on sale on May 8 at 7pm.

The stage show tells viewers to 'expect the unexpected' as the BBC TV series comes to life on stage. Expect black humour from the eerie to the absurd, and a 'dramatic script that will leave you guessing until the very end'.

The show states: "Familiar characters and stories will mix with brand new material by the genius of creators Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, who will also perform in the production, as they bring their unique brand of storytelling to the West End for a strictly limited season."
