BBC Morning Live's Helen Skelton inundated with messages as she announces break

Helen Skelton has received a wave of support after announcing she's taking a brief hiatus from her presenting role on Morning Live. The star reached out to fans via social media.

Posting a video compilation of her recent on-screen outfits from the show, as she announced the news. Back in December, Helen, 40, was unveiled as one of the new permanent hosts of BBC Morning Live.

The show has since moved to the heart of Manchester and has welcomed a variety of familiar faces to share the main hosting duties. However, with the show's recent extension, it was disclosed that Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones would be joined by new permanent co-presenters.

Upon her appointment as a full-time presenter starting January, Helen expressed her enthusiasm, saying she was "so excited" to join the team alongside Michelle Ackerley. They have been sharing the role, co-hosting with Gethin from Monday to Wednesday, while Gethin also presents four to five times a week with Kym, who takes over on Thursdays,

Guest presenters such as Sara Cox, Kimberley Walsh, Gaby Roslin, and Rav Wilding have also been regularly stepping in to co-host, reports the Manchester Evening News.

This week, Helen Skelton announced she's taking a well-deserved break. She took to Instagram to share a montage of her recent on-screen outfits, including a striking red dress and a variety of floral ensembles.

The ex-Blue Peter presenter captioned her post on Thursday: "We are having a little holiday @bbcmorninglive..

"Last day for a couple of weeks tomorrow. Thanks for your company. Thanks for sharing your stories. Thanks for inviting us into your living rooms. @gethincjones @michelle_ackerley @ravwilding #morningtelly #morninglive #bbc #manchester."

Fans were quick to shower Helen with praise. One person commented: "Gorgeous no matter what you wear." Another echoed: "Gorgeous," as someone else remarked: "Absolutely beautiful."

Another fan expressed: "Truly welcome. Have a wonderful break! " someone else enthused: "Knock out Helen! Have a great holiday." Someone else wrote: "Hurry back we will miss you."

The announcement follows Helen's joyful reunion with her Strictly Come Dancing pals. Having reached the final in 2022 with Gorka Marquez, Helen recently had the pleasure of hosting pro dancers Dianne Buswell, Vito Coppola, and Neil Jones on the show.

The star took to social media after appearing on the show and delighted fans with a series of photos alongside the Strictly pros and her visit to the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, where she caught them in action during the Strictly Come Dancing The Professionals tour.

Alongside the pictures, the mother of three exclaimed, "Something very special about that group of dancers ..... total joy to watch you guys do what you do best in @strictlycomedancinglive with the @bbcmorninglive gang.
