On Thursday's edition of The One Show, Alex Jones and Roman Kemp were joined by special guests, which included the acclaimed documentary-maker Stacey Dooley and the renowned actress Celia Imrie.

Stacey Dooley, a former Strictly Come Dancing champion, delved into her latest endeavour on London's illustrious West End stage, as she geared up to play Jenny in the eagerly anticipated return of '2:22 - A Ghost Story'.

During an engrossing conversation with Roman, Stacey shared insights into her character, describing her as teetering "on the edge of an existential crisis".

The enigmatic role encapsulates a woman grappling with motherhood, as Stacey illustrated: "She's just had a baby. The baby is still on the boob. She's knackered. It's all going on."

Embracing a new challenge in her career, Stacey asserted: "I thought you know what? If I can try anything, I can try this..." These thoughts come shortly after she and her partner Kevin Clifton celebrated the birth of their first child, a daughter named Minnie, in the previous year, reports the Express.

However, co-host Roman soon found himself cutting the interview short. With urgency in his voice, he interjected that Stacey could not linger too long, revealing: "In fact, we can't keep you long. I'm being told now, you're on stage in about 40 minutes... and your bike. You've got a motorbike taking you there."

Stacey responded to the hasty departure with a light-hearted comment: "How showbiz is this Roman? ".

Roman retorted, ushering her exit with a nod to the essential piece of equipment, "We need to get this on you," pointing out the motorbike helmet necessary for her ride.

A quick farewell ensued as Stacey dashed off the set with Roman boosting her departure shouting, "Go, go, go," and Alex sending her off with the performer's traditional good-luck wish, "Break a leg."

Viewers were quick to praise the atmosphere on The One Show as @MaisyMooCow posted: "Great sofa there on the #Theoneshow with Stacey Dooley and Celia. Stacey is so lovely the way she included Celia in her interview and not just addressing the presenters like most do. So grounded and down to earth."

@Rosie shared their affection, commenting: "#TheOneShow aww love stacey Dooley."

Similarly, @JJ expressed their admiration with a succinct: "Love Stacey."
