BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Fleur East told 'you've got this' as as she addresses new mum 'struggle'

Fleur East has been flooded with support as she also offered comfort to those 'struggling' in the early days and weeks of motherhood. The Strictly Come Dancing star welcomed her first child into the world with her husband Marcel Robin last month.

Just a few months after confirming her pregnancy by stunning in a glamourous snap with her baby bump on full display, Fleur delighted her fans over the recent Easter weekend when she revealed she and her husband Marcel had welcomed their baby girl into the world by sharing pictures of the sweet bundle of joy and her name for the first time.

Fleur could be seen carrying their newborn in a baby sling as they took a trip out and about. In the caption of the post, Fleur confirmed they'd named their daughter Nova and that she made her entrance "via squat position into the arms of my Husband and I on our living room floor," the new mum said.

Fleur has since been sharing glimpses into life as a new mum and in her latest post, the singer and radio and TV host could be seen doting on baby Nova who appeared to be transfixed by her mum as she fussed over her while laying on the sofa.

The Strictly It Takes Two host started the caption of her post by writing: "Daily chats with my new bestie," which she shared alongside the Billie Eilish track 'Everything I Wanted'. She continued: "The first 4 weeks of being a parent have been a whirlwind! Looking after a baby really is something! [crying laughing emoji]. But I always have a few moments, for example when I’m up at 2am because baby girl needs a feed.

"Or I haven’t slept, feel shattered and can’t work out why my baby is crying when I’ve been through the entire checklist! I remind myself that there was a time where I wished and hoped for the very chapter I’m in right now.

"When I’m knee-deep in nappies and drowning in milk, it’s sometimes hard to see that I am in the middle of all the moments I prayed for. When the true feeling of gratitude hits me and I see my baby girl smile, it makes every challenge worth it."

Fleur then rounded off her post by adding: "For anyone in the struggle right now (first time mothers or parents like me) please share in the comments below anything that helps get you through or any advice you were given that kept you going through the toughest of times. Let’s help lift each other up."

Former Strictly star and fellow new mum Oti Mabuse was quick to respond, simply writing: "Love you." Singer and actress Alexandra Burke, who also welcomed her second child into the world last year, replied:"You got this babe!"

And Fleur's fans and followers were also quick to share their love and support while also sharing their own stories. @julie_cockburn said: "I would say don’t be afraid to ask for help & also if you don’t want visitors don’t feel bad by saying so. This is your journey & your baby."

@fitmumsberkshire commented: "Just remember you are doing an amazing job." @em_louise0307 shared: "Every stage is a phase, they will come and go. But I always reminded myself as each day passed, you'll never have that day again, your little won't be that age again so cherish it as much as you can."

There is so much pressure on us to keep everything neat and tidy but be selfish, not guilty. Keep doing what you’re doing. Being a parent is tough at every stage."
