RJ rose to fame playing Walter White Jr. in the hit Netflix series alongside Bryan Cranston as his drug lord dad and though he’s been offered numerous acting roles since, he jumped at the chance to film the thrilling series in Panama in Central America.

A source said: “RJ loves to challenge himself and this will be right up there. After ‘Breaking Bad’ he’s not been short of acting work but jumped at the chance to do ‘The Island’.”

RJ has joined the likes of ex-‘Coronation Street’ actor Ryan Thomas and ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Lucy Mecklenburgh on the Channel 4 programme and though he suffers from cerebral palsy, he can’t wait to get stuck into the physical tasks.

The source added to The Sun newspaper: “The tasks the contestants have to complete are very physically demanding and he cannot wait to get stuck in.”
